Nike girl run

In search of

Over the last few days, I have been scouring through the Internet sites in hope of finding a race (half or full marathon) that I would want to do this year. Finding one that fits my schedule, is tricky. And then even if you find one, it needs to be coordinated with someone else.

I lamented to B.T last night, How did we ever travel so much last year?

We covered 3 major trips, aside from our work trips last year. How we found the time, I have no idea. This year, it seems harder with other major plans in line, we are struggling to find pockets of dates to do a nice long trip or even one that has a race element included. With a number of things still unsure, we might just have to go along with the flow.

I hope I can figure out. This time last year, we had already decided on the race. Currently, we have decided on none. In fact, we might be already too late in the game as most major races are fully booked out. Sounds crazy but it is.

I was feeling slightly de-motivated this morning with running and all. Whilst running yesterday, I was thinking hard, I found it much easier to be dilligent in training when there was something to train for. Without a race in mind, I get easily distracted. Thankfully, this morning, I had a little motivation boost from work.

The good thing about my job, is that a big part of it relates to running. Most of the time, it doesn't quite feel like a job when I do talk about running. I don't seem to get tired of it. And as we watched the video and presentation for the seasonal meetings, I got all ramped up and motivated.

Now I just need to find that race or just keep running. Because, even if I can't find one this year, there is always 2011.

Cold in Denver

Like frozen meat

Have you walked into the frozen meat selection of the supermarket, shivering like crazy and wondering why the hell is it so goddamn cold?

That's how I am feeling right now. In the office.

I am wearing double thick jackets right now, my fingers are icy cold and I feel like frozen meat -_- I am so tempted to sit outside the cargo lift or along the corridor where it is a lot warmer. Now where is my beanie and scarf?

I've been cramming work in these few days and I got back barely an hour ago! But it's all good because the day at work included 2 runs.

Barely 4 hours after my afternoon run, I was dragged out for the second run. Just 3 guys and me this time around.

L is insane - his third run for the day and he runs the third run at a 4min plus pace and he ran an extra 2-3 km more too. Sigh. Then AP is just as mad and I was groaning when they started off fast.

I couldn't keep up this time around. First, my meatball and spaghetti lunch was jiggling inside my tummy and I had a stitch on the right side. A tummyache followed and it was the kind where you need to go. But I held on. Finally, after the right stitch disappeared, the left started. Meanwhile, the bunnies were far ahead and out of sight.

AL and I caught up with AP at the usual place and we turned around. Some 2km later, L caught up from his extended run then swiftly past us and ran even faster ahead. I guess that's why he does a 3 hour odd marathon.

2 runs in a day. I ran about 18km, unintentionally. This week, I've covered about 30km already. Again, it was not a deliberate effort. I'm pooped.

Brand new start

Finally after 5 presentations that I had to do this week, I can sit down and relax a little. I'm glad that I did the move yesterday and I'm all settled in my new workspace with just some minor stuff to sort out.

It's going to be another busy week to follow with lots to learn. Sitting at my new work space, I feel ready for my new role and the challenges ahead.

It's Thursday. I'm having a headache

The heat is getting to my head - I'm having a headache. I shall try guzzling more water when I get home.

I moved seats today to the other end of the office. Everything is still in a mess since everyone has to change seats. It's like a domino effect. If one doesn't move, the rest get stuck. I've moved and unpacked :) I would like to organize my work area more though.

I am feeling lazy. Not in the mood to run. The headache isn't helping either. I miss yoga but my schedule is insane right now.

On a side note, I need my polar strap!! I need to train in my heart rate zone otherwise I'm almost wasting my time :\

Comfort food

Order in

At 10pm after a long and tiring day of meetings, I am hungry but too tired to eat a full meal. So I order in a serving of rich tomato soup and Greek salad. I hate the olives in the salad so I pass them on.

20 seconds entry

It never fails to warm my heart whenever I see men proudly displaying pictures of their kids on their work desk tops or using the pictures as their cell or desktop wallpaper.

Totally swamped at work today. And will be so for the next week. Good Bye.

Like a bee

Busy busy busy.

Work is starting to pile up and I am going, OMG. There is so much to do.

Work. B.T. Yoga. Running. Family. Friends. In no particular order. So many things to do and the all cliche term - not enough time!

Oh. I still need to figure out how to port over my contacts to the iPhone. It's all gone haywire with the last names and first names and I am seeing many many semi-colons. -_- Boo.

And because I don't have music as ringtones on my phone, I am using the boring defaults. I am not used to responding to my phone which now quacks. What the hell is that noise? *quack quack quack. Missed call. Oh. It's my phone -_-

Okay. Back to work. Pronto.

Paper trail

When there are too many things to do, I make lists. To-do list and strike them off one by one. I know you can do a lot of these digitally, but somehow, I love writing on paper. It is where I get my thoughts collected and organized.

Back to the grind...
