Homecooked soups and more

I think every woman should know how to cook. At least a few good dishes. Your man will appreciate it. Or if your man is the cook, than you're one lucky woman. BUT, still, it's good to know how to whip up at least a few simple good dishes.

As you all know, I've been into cooking soups recently. I've done butternut squash, mushroom, sherried tomato and French onion soup successfully. I'd a few suggestions for asparagus (mmmmm), oxtail stew (done it but serve it as a main not as a soup), and lobster bisque.

We'd French onion soup 3 days in a row but we didn't mind because it was seriously good. That crusty bread soaked in the good soup with melted gruyere and that wonderful burnt taste and smell. Gorgeous.

I have a few more recipes to try dessert wise - pear tart (from E), chocolate tart (from D), Girl Scout thin mints, Earl grey and lemon cupcakes (from J) and latest inspiration - chocolate cake from Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere. Oh. And if I'm daring enough, those macarons that I've been talking about. It all sounds really yummy, the only issue is that B.T is begging me to slow down on the desserts as it's killing his waistline. Oops.
