OSIM mini run keeping strong

I've been extremely patient and have not done any of my Insanity workouts or runs since last week's back sprain and knee pain. I'm now 110% fine so I'll be doing an easy 6 miler later this evening.

Wish me luck.

Waay back on my training. Haven't done Insanity for two weeks and have skipped out of my track work and long run, BUT, rest is just as important (if not more) than training.

FIVE more weeks to the marathon.

Enoteca on Elgin

Brunch. Mine.

It was one of those random Sundays where B.T had to meet up with a friend at Soho and we didn't have a particular cuisine in mind. We did want a place that had a good brunch selection (as it was 10ish in the morning) so Enoteca on Elgin was selected.

I would term the cuisine 'standard western or American' offering though it did have stuff like Fish and Chips offered on the menu - which we did order.

Hearty portions, we actually ordered a pizza but were relieved when it didn't turn up eventually! We were so full from the brunch that it lasted us all the way through in the late evening.

On a side note, I do like SoHo. It has a nice feel to it. Looking at these photos make me kinda miss Hong Kong. The food, the shopping, the fun times spent with friends.

The Hong Kong list

A friend of mine typed out two pages of her recommendations in Hong Kong (within a short span of 15 minutes), when I asked for 'tips. There are many things to do in Hong Kong, especially, shopping. Though I've visited Hong Kong numerous times, I never had enough time to check everything out SO, for the next trip, I'll try to go for at least a week.

For my record and for those shopaholics out there, here's the laundry list.

Tsim Tsa Tsui

- Ginza mall which is off Granville. Great place to shop for local designer items
- Harbour City is HUGE. You'll be able to find most overseas brands housed here.
- Silvercord

Prince Edward (near Mongkok) also known as Tai Zi
- At Fa Yuen street, you will find off-season imported good such as Abercrombie.
- Good local delicacies found in the small eateries

- Lots of cheap clothes and shoes for women. It's best to exit from the MTR at exit D2
- Langham mall
- Local food such as claypot rice and 'chey zai mee'

Hong Kong Island

Causeway Bay
- Island Beverly, NuFront, Causeway Place for local designer brands
- Times Square
- Sogo

- Soho will be your haunt if you love designer stores similar to the ones found in Haiji Lane/Club Street in Singapore
- Largest H&M at 68 Queen's Road
- Excellent selection of food at Soho and Aberdeen Street - mostly fine dining

Recommended local food
- Tsui Wah - my favorite is the condensed milk buns! And the milk tea!
- Steam egg/Steam milk (Causeway Bay, Yee Shun Dairy Company which is beside Sogo)
- Street side satay fishball, "Gai Dan Zai" (egg waffles)
- Kau Kee (21 Gough Road, Central, take the MTR to Sheung Wan and exit at A2) I love love love this place. Check out my Hong Kong tabs for more detail! Go early, be prepared to queue for the beef tendon and brisket noodles. Directly opposite Kau Kee, is another road side stall that sells 'tomato based' noodles. Queues are long too but most people would eat at Kau Kee and head right over for the tomato based noodles! Serving size at Kau Kee is small by the way.
- Lok Yuen for beef ball and sotong ball. Take the MTR to Mongkok and exit at E2. Walk along Nelson Street until you arrive at Fa Yuen Street. Turn right and walk on.
- Lang heung noodles - soft pork bone soup. 15A Austin Road, Tsim Tsa Tsui. Take to Jordan MTR, exit at A2. Turn left after Austin Road.

2/F South Horizon Plaza/ Marina Square (East Wing), Hong Kong Island

At Horizon Plaza, there are many designer fashion outlets that are on different levels so check out the directory first and decide which brands you want to patronize. Brands include Land Crawford, Joyce, IT, Max MAra, Moiselle Warehouse, Pompei Warehouse, Bluebell Fashion Warehouse, Body Style -Cosabella, Marijuana Fashion Warehouse

There was a cupcake cafe which I later found out, was quite reputable. It's a pity we didn't have time to grab one!
