NB Aquathlon race to the end

It would be ideal

We are 5 months away from the marathon. It is still too early to start training proper. However, that doesn't mean that I am going to slack off and not do anything because if I do so, i will pay a high price for it!

I have been doing the Insanity workouts for about 2.5-3 weeks now. I am slowly getting used to it but I'll admit that I can't complete the full workout without taking breaks in between! This doesn't include the 'official' breaks.

My ideal training program for a week is to cover -

x2 sessions of Insanity
x2 sessions of Yoga
x3 sessions of running

So far, it is quite tough to squeeze all of that in. I am hoping that when the aches from Insanity eases off, I will be able to do two training sessions on a single day! Hopefully!

Last week, I was quite proud of myself. I did 5 days of training and felt pretty good.

Wednesday - Insanity core and balance
Thursday - Rolling slopes 5mile run
Friday - 90 mins of hot yoga
Saturday - Insanity abs
Sunday - 7.33 miles recovery run

I am trying to mix in more hill repeat runs, trail runs and eventually, tempo sessions so that I can gain more speed. It's funny but I sometimes look forward to hitting more hilly terrains. The best thing about the Insanity workout is that when the weather gets cranky like it does currently, and it pours daily, I can have an indoor workout option.
