Books Cellar

I did mention that the books+cafe concept and coffee cafes seem to be trending in Singapore right now. Not that I'm complaining because I love visiting both so here's another one that recently opened, coincidentally by friends of ours.

The concept of Books Cellar is a laid-back, cozy cafe, decked out with armchairs with shelves and shelves of books to read while you are there, or to buy/borrow, over a glass of wine or cuppa. Apparently, Books Cellar has the largest collection of Stephen King's books (they specialize in this genre of books offering) with other types such as fantasy, fiction etc. You can also play a game of foosball or pool or boardgames while you are there.

The bar menu is modest with a decent offering of alcoholic drinks such as beers, wines, hard liquor and champagne. You can also opt for hot and cold beverages such as hot/iced chocolate, teas and coffees. I thought it was a perfect place to chill out with a book or iPad over the weekend or to meet up a friend for a quiet chat.
