The guys are creatures of habit and contented to settle for Five Guys all the time. It is a good substitute for In and Out but I wouldn't skip a chance to try out something new. According to my Oregon colleague, Annie's is this gem of a burger shack that he randomly found one day and they serve a good home-styled burger.
The owner is a tiny Vietnamese woman who used to run a Vietnamese store. However, her burgers sold more than her other food offering so she decided to just focus on it and hell does she make one good burger. The buns are like homebaked almost, and the hand-formed beef patties non-processed. It isn't as greasy as the typical burgers, still unhealthy but not processed like those from Mac's (which I hate by the way) and the other commercial offerings.
I went for a simple mushroom swiss burger whilst the rest went for the little John's which consists of bacon, ham, egg, ketchup, mayo, lettuce, pickle and goodness knows what. The Farmer's John is the king-sized version of it and it's as big as my head -_- I think that must be something like 2,000 calories or so!
The fries weren't as good as the ones from Five Guys but the milkshakes were thick and sinful. I had a malt vanilla milkshake and took just a few sips and was done. It was really rich and that plus a burger was too much for me!
Great burger meal, another place to re-visit when I return.
